Cities and the built environment offer unlimited variety for photographic inspiration. Big cities especially seem to have an energy all their own - the movement, the people and the architecture.

I especially love cities at night when the lights and buzz add to the energy. Light and shadow come to the fore at night and buildings often majestic in the day can take on a whole new personality at night.

The built environment is endlessly fascinating too. The structures we humans create to make civilisation work. All made all the more poignant today by the challenges we face in maintaining our civilisation and our planet.
