Landscapes mean different things to different people. For some it’s the broad sweep of a Scottish glen or the vista of mountain peaks as far as the eye can see. For me it’s all those. But it’s also about the rolling fields while out walking, or the water meadows and pastures with swifts and swallows reeling overhead.
In any landscape the play of light makes a big difference. An early sunrise over frosty grasses or a fiery sunset after a long summers day. But stormy days with brooding clouds can be just as stirring, usually made more exhilarating by a dash for shelter when the rain starts!
So for me landscapes can be big or small. They all have the power to move us when we take time to stand and look. I hope through my pictures you see and feel a little of it too.
