The coast is a big lure for me. The vast swathe of a sandy beach, light on a breaking surf or rugged rocks have a timeless appeal. Most of beach images are of the south west of the UK and Cornwall in particular.

The east coast of the UK has a special allure too. In many ways a complete contrast to the south west, with muddy creeks, moody skies and frequently a brisk wind off the North Sea. Here we also find the remains of boats that used to ply these waters. As they settle into the mud their true stories are often lost to time but the image they represent has a photographic story to tell.

Wherever there is sea there is always a special light and atmosphere. I hope you share my joy in these places through my pictures.
